Clear Floor Glasses

Clear Floor Glasses

Clear float glass is manufactured by floating molten glass on a bed of molten metal, typically tin. This process, known as the float glass method, results in glass sheets with uniform thickness and exceptionally flat surfaces. The primary type of glass used in this process is soda-lime glass, which is widely used for various applications including window panes, glass doors, and furniture.

In addition to soda-lime glass, specialty borosilicate glass is also produced using the float glass technique, albeit in smaller quantities. Borosilicate glass is favored for specific applications such as laboratory glassware, cookware, and flat panel displays due to its thermal resistance and durability.

The float glass manufacturing process is highly efficient and versatile, allowing for the production of different types of glass tailored to specific needs and applications. Whether it’s for architectural glazing, automotive glass, or high-tech displays, float glass remains a cornerstone in modern glass production.
